What Type of Sharks to Fish for When Shark Fishing

When it comes to shark fishing, everyone likes to fish for a certain type of sharks.  Some sharks are easier to fish for and some of them really put up the challenge.  If you are just getting into shark fishing, then you should decide what you want to fish for, this can affect your entire shark fishing trip, so choose wisely.

If you are looking to fish for a big shark, a shark that is really going to put up a good fight, then look into fishing for Blue sharks.  Blue sharks tend to get up to about 12 feet, that is pretty big when it comes to sharks!  If this shark is something you have never fished for, then you are going to be in for a wild ride.  People who fish for Blue sharks, love the fight that they put up as well as the size of the actual shark.

If you are looking for a smaller shark, a shark that still packs a punch and gives you a wild ride, then go shark fishing for the Mako shark.  Mako sharks tend to jump up in the air when they have been caught and they really do give you a pretty good fight.  These sharks are most common in the Long Island waters.

Thresher sharks are also a very common shark to fish for, and people love to fish for these sharks. You can fish for these sharks in California or on the East Coast, depending when you are located and where you plan on going shark fishing. You can easily pick out a Thresher shark by the long tail that it has.

Shark fishing is a great sport, and there are so many sharks that you can end up fishing for.  If you are looking for a good fight, and you want to really get a good challenge, then you should take a look at fishing for the Blue shark.  Some people either love to fish for these sharks because of the fight they put up, or they do not like to fish for these sharks because of all of the energy that goes into reeling the shark in. If you want a shark that will put up a little bit of a fight, then check out the Mako shark, this shark lies to jump around once it has been caught.  It really does not matter what type of shark you fish for, the entire experience is going to be a worth while memory that you are never going to forget.  So, get out your shark fishing gear, and jump on your shark fishing boat, and take it from there.  Remember that location ad time of the year is key to catching the perfect the perfect shark. Just remember to be safe and be careful out there on the open water, these sharks are extremely unpredictable, you never know which way they are going to turn or which way they are going to swim!
