Shark sea fishing

It takes a lot of courage and preparation in order to start for shark sea fishing because is one of the most challenging activities mostly due to the dangers a fisherman may face while dealing with the aggressive nature of these ferocious predator machines ,still the most  magnificent creatures of the sea in the same time .

There are several hundreds species of sharks divided into two groups, one including sharks living on the bottom of the ocean , like leopard and cat sharks, bull shark, lemon shark, gray nurse shark and the second group which is made of  : the whale shark, the tiger shark, sand tiger shark , reef shark ,mako shark and the great white shark and are found in mid-waters .  Surprisingly not all of them are ferocious. Actually , statistics show the only few of almost 400 species are omnivore( more precisely 30 )  and have ever attacked the men ,some of those being : tiger sharks,  white sharks , bull sharks, blues sharks, lemon sharks etc….the rest only attack when mistaken a person for something else.

There are several things to do in order to attract a shark and be successfully in shark sea fishing , the very things tourists should not do when get in the water , and those would be :

- relieve in the water a piece of bloody flesh , the blood in combination with some substance in water is a sure attraction for any shark ;

- use clothes intense and bright colored , sharks see very well contrasts;

- there are certain types of sounds that seem to attract sharks even from long distance away , so make sure you have something to produce strange noises ;

- go the zones when warm waters meet cold waters , that is a zone where most of tuna and others game fish go and consequently most of sharks searching for food will come ;

- go to shark sea fishing mostly at nights because sharks are mostly active when is dark and at twilight ;

Last but not the least tip on shark sea fishing is to know where to look for the right type of prey ; being veracious carnivores always in searching for food and spending their life in constant moving , sharks are to be found in different arias ,depending on their different eating habits , such as close to estuaries ,coastal,  inshore and offshore in the open sea  .

Depending on what type of shark you’re out for, you can choose the right location to start fishing.

For instant , if you want to catch a bull shark or a sand tiger shark  you have to sail close to inshore and estuaries because they come here often to feed with mullets, shrimps and other intervertebrates but if you’re after bigger sharks such reef sharks ,leopard and cat sharks , you must go fishing on the coastal areas . Finally,  mako , whale and great white sharks which spend most of their entirely life far from land  are found in open sea where they search for  food  sometimes in large number to the joy of the fishermen .

Many people think that shark sea fishing requires a lot of money to invest in chartered boats , special expensive equipment ,however this is not always the truth . Fishing for smaller sharks found on inshore and in estuaries can be done very well from small or beach boats, but of course with the special gear required of shark fishing.
